Red Velvet Brownies From Cake Mix. Stir cake mix, egg, oil and water together in a bowl to make a thick batter. Remove from pan and allow the brownies to cool.
The texture should be like thick cake batter. In a large bowl beat together the red velvet cake mix, melted unsalted butter, egg and water. Remove from pan and allow the brownies to cool.
Next, reserve one-third of your brownie batter and make sure to press the remaining batter into the bottom of your baking pan.
Pour brownie batter over top of red velvet batter.
Spread frosting or other desired frosting toppings. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. The texture should be like thick cake batter.
